About

Dawn Hill Antiques was founded by John and Paulette Peden over twenty years ago when the store opened in the village of New Preston, CT. According to a recent magazine article, “The store with its pale Swedish dĂ©cor looks like a scene from an Ingemar Bergman movie with exquisite furniture and clocks in cool Gustavian shades of white and grey. “

about_paulettePaulette Peden, whose business career has always focused on creative work , was first drawn to Swedish antiques when she fell in love with a Swedish mora clock and was charmed by the beautiful patina and feminine design. This started her on a quest for the best examples of, not only Swedish furniture but a dedication to finding period pieces with the original paint, construction and surface details.
