-SOLD- A Pair of Late Gustavian Period Swedish Klismos Chairs Circa 1815

This stylish pair of neoclassical chairs are a Swedish interpretation of the ancient Greek Klismos chair dating to the 5th century BCE. They have curved and tapered legs, and an unusual curved back that is solid wood with upholstery only on the inside of the back of the seat. The harp motif indicates that they might have been used in a music room. The cream paint is original and they have been upholstered in a French linen fabric.
