This rare pair of armchairs were made in Lindome, Sweden, circa 1800. Their most important feature is the unusually large and impressive carving of the Hops plant’s flower and leaves on the crest of the chair. The arms are beautifully stylized, slender and elegant. The backsplats have four reeded panels. The reeded legs are topped with large flowers at each corner. The blue paint is original with few well executed touch ups. Measuring 22” wide the chairs are comfortable and generous in size.
