The backs on these elegant set of Gustavian Period chairs have spindles decorated with acanthus leaves, that end in a curved upholstered backrest. The acanthus motif is echoed on the legs as well. Chairs, such as these, are so comfortable that they were often used in salons and bedrooms, while today they are ideal for use in the dining room. The pale cream paint surface is original.
