This charming Stockholm settee is an excellent example of the best of Gustavian design. It was made in 1780 and signed by Johan Erik Höglander, a famous chair maker of the time, who lived and worked in Stockholm. The settee has beautiful detailed carvings of roses in the center of the back and a series of carvings on the apron. The pale grey paint is original. At 65” wide this settee is the perfect size to seat three people, but small enough to fit in many spaces.
