This charming country cupboard is a real jewel with all original interior and exterior painting executed by a true artist. The exterior is a rich shade of dark green highlighted by a faux marble painted molding, and charming flowers with a ribbon in the center. It was probably given as a gift to a newlywed couple whose initials and marriage date adorn the front. There are three lower drawers each painted with fantastic folk art scenes of trees in a landscape. You open the cupboard to find an interior as spectacular as the outside with free-form swirls and stars in the original blue paint. Three interiors shelves are topped with a plate rail. The massive iron lock is of the period. It is unusual to find a cupboard of this age in such wonderful condition.
