SOLD A Gustavian Period Armchair from Lindome, circa 1790

This rare Gustavian armchair is a fine example of the work of the renowned chairmakers in Lindome Sweden. The Lindome emblem of the fruit and flowers of the hops plant is beautifully expressed in descriptive carvings on the back crest and the apron. The legs have an unusual squared off form ending in a delicate square foot. The dark cream paint surface is original. The upholstered back gives the chair great comfort.
