-SOLD- A Gustavian Period Cabinet with Original Blue and Coral Paint Dated 1832

This beautiful Gustavian cabinet is unusual because of the original spectacular blue paint and the original locks and hardware. It is signed by the maker, or possibly the initials of the first owner and dated 1832. The interior of the cabinet has two small drawers with the original leather pulls, two shelves and a lovely spoon rack at the top. Originally this cabinet was fastened to a wall, one can see the large hooks on the sides, however a base was made at some time in its past so it can be enjoyed sitting in a modern home. The paint on only the flat top as well as the later base have been retouched to blend harmoniously with the original colors of the “målning” – (Swedish for painted decorations) seen on the front and sides.
