These beautifully crafted chairs were designed by Carl Wilhelm Carlsberg, a noted chair maker in Lindome Sweden, in the 18th and early 19th centuries. This model of chair was created for the dining room at the Gunnebo Manor House outside of Gothenburg. Notable features are the hops and flower carvings on the crest and apron, and stylish highly detailed legs both front and back ending in a square collar at the foot. Also unusual are the small crown like finials on the corner tops of the backs. The paint surface is original and the chairs are upholstered in a linen fabric.
