This very elegant single armchair bears the signature of the famous and prolific Swedish chair maker Ephriam Stahl, (1767-1820) who worked in Stockholm and was one of the main creators of furniture for King Gustav III of Sweden. The back of the chair with columnar back slats is surrounded with the expert carvings typical of this maker. The pale cream paint surface is original.
