Originating in the southern province of Småland, this chest is unusual because it is made of oak. The original layer of cream paint on the drawers and top is almost transparent allowing the grain of the wood to show through. The top and drawers are outlined with blue paint, which is continued on the feet, creating a graphic frame. It has antique iron simple drawer pulls and escutcheons.
