This exceptional table comes from Ångermanland in the north of Sweden. The original blue paint is rare, as blue pigments were expensive at the time and considered a luxury item. The construction itself, with rounded corners and an unusual costly method of attaching the top to the base, further indicate that it was custom order for a wealthy customer who asked that his initials “APS” be branded on one side.
