This rare chest from Värmland, Sweden, in a cool shade of coral paint, shows traces of the original grain painting surrounding the drawers. The top is marbleized with bold pale grey and white brush strokes creating a lovely contrast with the more vibrant color of the drawers. The hardware is original, and the drawers open with a curved antique key. All the drawers open with ease. The base has an elegantly carved apron and curved legs. The height of this piece makes it an important presence in any room.
