A Swedish Gustavian Period Settee from Lindome, Circa 1780

This spectacular settee is a fine example of the work of the renowned chairmakers guild in lindome, sweden. The lindome signature, of the fruit and flowers of the hops plant, is beautifully expressed in exquisite carvings on the crest and apron, which are spaced between geometric carvings. This pattern is echoed on the arms as well. The pale grey paint surface is original. It is covered in a belgian linen fabric.
