Henri Robbe, (1807-1899) Belgian, was a prolific painter of romantic still life floral paintings, often with a dark background to intensify the beauty of the flowers. This image depicts a bouquet of roses and tulips in a glass vase with a wonderful blue and white transferware bowl at one side. It framed with an antique giltwood frame and is signed on the lower right side H. Robbe.
