We were happy to find this period chest with a great form typical of the Rococo period. The wonderful blue paint surface with faint touches of the original paint has been enhanced with recent repainting. There is also a useful pull out writing surface, and even better, the chest has the original brass hardware decorated with cherubs topped with the Swedish crown and cross; a sign that it came from a royal household. The top has curved details typical of the Rococo style and a pull-out writing surface. The curve of the bottom apron is reflected in the curved, yet sturdy legs.
