-SOLD- A Gustavian Period Cabinet with Coral and Blue Diamond Carvings, Circa 1790

This stunning cabinet is in one part, with the doors closing to highlight the spectacular carvings that define this piece. The raised diamond carvings retain the original coral highlights that are painted in an alternating pattern, creating a visually striking masterpiece of 18th century cabinetry. The molding that decorates the top and bottom are in the same original blue color as the body. The inside has been dry scraped to reveal a shade of cream from top to bottom. The top shelf features notches for glassware. The cabinet is slim with lots of room for storage and may have been used for household linens and the like.
