This extraordinary secretary has original faux marble painted doors on both the top and bottom in a wonderful shade of blue. The trim and sides have been dry scraped to the blonde wood surface, allowing the original intended contrast to the blue paint to shine. At the top, the unusual cornice is also painted in faux marble with alternating shades of lighter and dark blue which accentuates its graceful shape. The interior has been primarily dry scraped to the original wood with portions repainted. The cabinet was a wedding gift in a family for generations, with the last time being in 1858, which you can see painted inside the door. The hardware is original, and the writing surface is complete with all its drawers. This secretary will prove useful in either a living, dinning, or bedroom.
