This set of six matching Gustavian period dining chairs has been dry scraped to the original paint. Exceptionally deep and detailed carving is seen throughout these chairs. The vertical pattern of carving seen is unique and separates this set from more traditional Gustavian chairs. The chair backs are ergonomically curved, sturdy, and quite comfortable with the addition of new upholstery done by hand in the traditional manner with natural linen. The back upholstery is attached showing blued steel cut tacks, a more laborious method as the upholsterer cannot use modern hand tools.
