This beautiful bombé commode in excellent condition was constructed in Stockholm at the end of the 18th century. With all the curves to embody the Swedish baroque style, this difficult piece to carve shows masterful carpentry and stunningly realized construction. The interior of the drawers are clean and well sealed and all work with ease. The chest has a dry scraped patina of its original white and sand colored finish. The top has had some paint added at a later date. The outstanding hardware is original.
