A fine gustavian period secretary from northern Sweden. All the paint is original, with the exterior being dry scraped down to its original off-white paint. The interior features stepped drawers, arched nooks, and a reeded door all in the original deep bottle green paint with red accents and initials of the owner (KPD) and date (1840) in white script. Lovely details like the carved heart at the base, and the way the cornice was carved with extra steps, give importance and show the craft of the maker. The interior of the top cabinet and the three bottom drawers is quite clean; this piece has been well cared for its entire life.
