This Gustavian sofa from northern Sweden was manufactured during the turn of the 18th century around 1790-1800 in the landskap province of Hälsingland. This piece has been dry scraped to the superb original coral paint and has a renovated seat newly upholstered in antique white linen with tubular bolster pillows made for either end. From the urn finials to the carved flowers with three tapered leaves beneath, this sofa has exceptional details that set it apart. An excellent example of Gustavian workmanship, the front portion can be pulled out to convert to a day bed or used as extra storage space.
