This is an unusual example of a Swedish trågsoffa, as the top and sides have detailed carvings that form a frame above the cushions and add a more finished look; while most trågsoffas are completely plain. Another added dimension is that the Gustavian style carved motif on the apron continues across the back so that the piece can be seen from all sides. The original paint surface shows touches of pale green and grey paint. It has new cushions for the back and seat in a linen fabric. The seat cushion itself is stitched by hand in the old manner.
