This quilt with contrasting indigo blue and creamy white is so resplendently contemporary for its age. At 10 stitches per inch, all done by hand, this quilt was not made by a mere amateure, rather someone with inventiveness and skill. There are two types of indigo fabric used, one is patterned with stars, the other with card suits. The quilt is perfect for a queen sized bed. It is not a heavyweight quilt, so it can be used in any season. No sweating in the summer, and it can sit above blankets in the winter. Excellent condition for over 100 years old, a few miniscule stains and imperfections are found throughout, but are not noticeable overall. American, circa 1880-90
